Only a view tourist knows the little lake near Maries, because you don`t find the
lake on a map.
If you want to see the lake, you have to
drive to Maries. In Maries you take the street on the right side and follow
the street. After you leave Maries the street will be like a sand-street.
After 2-3 km you will see the lake on the left side. The street to the lake
is quite good, so you can drive by car.
The lake is a storage lake and the one lake
of Thassos. The location of the lake is in the midst of the "wilderness"
and so this place is very quiet and peaceful. The lake is ideal for all
wanderers, bicycle-tours or discovery-tours to have a break.
The lake isnīt suited for swimming. If you
want to go swimming you better go to the sea or swimmingpool.
Wild-camping is also forbidden here, like
on the whole island. No doubt, this was a nice place for camping, but for
wild-camping and camping-fires you have to pay a high fine.
